Safety. The foundation every finding stands on.

Safety is where most site vision starts, and it is built into everything Background does. It watches plant and people, exclusion zones and access, against the RAMS and permits that govern the work. It is the foundation, not the whole case.

Aligned with
ISO 45001 Occupational health and safety management systems

The health and safety management standard behind most contractors’ systems.

What Background watches for

People inside plant exclusion zones
Work carried out against the RAMS and permit
Pedestrian routes and segregation from plant
Good practice worth recognising
Alignment

How it lines up with ISO 45001.

Background supplies evidence for the system you already run. It does not certify you, and it does not replace your own processes.

The standard asks you to Background contributes

Identify hazards and assess the risks

Observations of real conditions against the assessed method

Control the risks identified

Work checked against the RAMS and permit as it happens

Monitor, measure and evaluate performance

Trends across shifts, including what is going right

Background is not a safety-critical system. Any alerting relied on for safety needs its own testing and validation for the machine, task and environment.

Example

The exclusion zone, read against the plan.

A worker entered the outer zone around an excavator while it was working. The finding is sent to the Foreman with the image, the time and the RAMS it relates to, so the briefing can change before the next shift.
